Applying for a place of study at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences from abroad through UNI-ASSIST

What is UNI-ASSIST?

UNI-ASSIST is an acronym for Arbeits- und Servicestelle für internationale Studienbewerbungen and as such acts as a service point for the processing of international students’ applications.

You must make your application to study at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences through UNI-ASSIST

  • If your certificate of eligibility to study at an institution of higher education is not from a German school or college.
  • This also applies to students from abroad who have already studied in Germany and who are applying to start in a higher semester.
  • It also applies to students who are applying for a course of continuing studies, e.g. Master’s degree or research studies, and whose first academic degree, e.g. Bachelor’s degree, was not conferred by a German institution of higher education.

Where to apply through UNI-ASSIST

Please send your application to the following address:

Fachhochschule Flensburg
c/o UNI-ASSIST e. V.
Helmholtzstraße 2-9
D-10587 Berlin

Closing date for applications made through UNI-ASSIST

  • Please submit your application for the summer semester by January 1st of the same year, and by July 1st of the same year for the winter semester.
  • Please keep to these deadlines. If you have not submitted all the required forms by these dates, your application can only be considered for the following semester or year.
  • We therefore strongly recommend that you send your complete application three to six weeks earlier than these deadlines to allow us sufficient time to deal with any queries that might arise.

  • Clicking on the following link will take you to a list of all the universities participating in the UNI-ASSIST scheme.

  • any certificates, records or transcripts of marks (grades) that you have achieved should you have already studied at a university or similar;

  • If you are applying to continue your studies in a higher semester, you will need to supply proof of your eligibility to do so, for example in the form of any certificates, records or transcripts of marks (grades) that you have already attained.
  • If you are applying for a Master’s degree programme, you need to include the first degree certificate and proof of sufficient proficiency in the English language should the Master’s degree course require this.
  • UNI-ASSIST requires all documents to be officially certified copies together with officially certified German translations. Please do not send original documents.
  • Please note that UNI-ASSIST cannot process incomplete applications.
